Rice patching

DAVAO. Patching-patching, some farmers call it. That process where farm hands redistribute rice plants already replanted in the paddies; where some of the plants in areas that have more growth are uprooted to be planted where there are less. This “finishing touch” to the planting season takes just a few hands unlike in the planting and harvest. After that, the rice plants are tended to with farm inputs as farmers wait for harvest.
